A few things to think about…the price of gas is down but for how long, nobody knows.

2008 is almost over bringing with it the end of a record year of companies going bankrupt, people losing their jobs, the BAILOUT, and the 1st black president elected to office in the history of our nation.

in a sign of our bleak economic times a 90 something year old woman ,who bought her home like 50 some years ago with her husband and had to refinance when he got sick a few years back, tried to kill herself rather than be evicted from the home they shared. Well she survived and Fannie Mae GENEROUSLY said they would forgive the 10 thousand or so dollars that she owed on her mortgage and give her the house. a good thing…yes!

but what about the people who arent quite as old, didnt survive their suicide attempts, or who have kids and nowhere to go? what did Fannie Mae do for them?

then you have the big three auto giants. they go crawling to washing d.c. to beg for 7, 9, and 11 billion dollars of bailout money from, basically the American people, the govt. but they all fly private jets. when asked if any of them planned on selling their jets…crickets. when they came back for round two one of them stated that he had driven a hybrid from Detroit. there was a joke related that if he got the bailout funds he would be flying back with that hybrid strapped to the private jet!

it’s been a big year for natural disasters…myanamar cyclone and the earthquakes in china. the hurricanes in the gulf coast.

the brangelina twins! Thomas!

We go into 2009 facing so much uncertainty. what will happen to my job? my house? the stock market? my savings? what kind of world will my kids be getting after 2008′s hellish maelstrom of events?

All i know is that we have made it through another year of ups and downs (even though the ups seem too minor in comparison at times)and we are still here. We have a brand new year to start fresh and try again. I personally hope that it snows on December 31st at midnight, that way it can wash away all the bad and we can start (literally)fresh…plus it’s pretty.
