I seem to remeber someone saying that very same thing!

 I once heard someone tell me that every generation thinks they have it worse than the one before them. But is it true?!? We as parents in this day and age think so…kids face so much more evil in our world. Drugs were around when we were little, but they were saved for the degenerates and lowlifes. Sex was also being had, but the internet made opprngraphy something we knew little about(hopefully). Abductions happened but never were they as publicized. we are a nation in fear…and we are passing that along to our children. I too never told my mom where I was going or when I would be back…sometimes I would leave a 8am and not come home til the streetlights came on. I would ride my bike ten miles away. But we lived in a small town and it gave us a false sense of security. I remember when I was 4 and my sister was 6 or 7 and we would walk a 1/2 mile (crossing a busy highway) with our little red wagon to go to the dairy. I wouldnt let a 12 year old walk that far without having someone I trusted follow them, or having peple along the route to call me and tell me when they passed. It scares me to think what this world will be like for my grandkids. And what my daughter will have to face as a parent. The amber alerts and all the media coverage is a good thing in a way…it gets information out there at a critical time to try and return these kids safely…but I have to wonder if this doesn’t just serve as incentive to get rid of the kid quickly. That way there is less evidence and it is easier to have an alibi. Are we helping these lost kids? Or are we encouraging their demise?

I think we should make a new law that states when someone kills a child (or any person for that matter) we get to kill their child in front of them…or let’s say Ami was killed by a creep like that…I should get to kill someone they love in front of them. Then they go to death row having to see their loved one dying in ntheir head all the time. Then we get to put a lethal dose of whatever in their arm and wait while they die slowly. too harsh ya think? maybe…but I’m sure it would only take a dozen or so and the crime rate would drop. At least that is how it works in my head!
