When the words “I Quit!” mean the opposite

So the dispatcher at my work in the evenings and on the weekends is a real douche bag. I hate him and he is like a 21st century Musselini. He’s short, ugly and thinks he has more power& influence than he really does! In his mind he is training to take over the business as the manager. But he is NOT a people person. He feels our customers are there to do what’s best for us not the other way around…even if that means the customer has to wait an hour after their flight comes in to be picked up from the airport (We tell them the driver will be waiting when they arrive at the airport)! He talks to the other employees like we are pond scum.

He used to be a crack head and all his teeth are rotting out of his head so when he talks or smiles he looks like a jack-o-lantern. It’s disturbing!

Yesterday he got mad cause one of the sales guys challenged him on his poor attitude about cust serv. and he got so mad he eventually came out of the dispatch office and said,”I QUIT!” All of us on the am shift were rejoicing(we all hate him with a fiery passion) then our real boss came out and decided it was time for her to finally step in. After all she didnt want to loose him! Loose him? What loss?!? Things would run so much smoother without him.

In the end she made him happy(and the rest of us disappointed) again and he is staying! All I know is if he takes over we will end up going bankrupt. It’s hard enough not knowing if your company is going to survive in this economy, but when they make choices that mean they will almost certainly go under it is a very scary thing.

I know I’ll Quit if he really does become the manager! And there will be no changing my mind…unless they want to double my salary! For that much money I would put up with Phil’s shit two days a week.
